Are animals fleeing from the Yellowstone Super Volcano?

  2. I am intimately familiar with the Yellowstone geography and the caldera especially. If and when it blows, that map of the impact is way under estimating it. The bulging of the ground has been happening for years. If it goes the USA coast to coast is toast. See ya....

    1. The whole planet will experience a significant climate change event if Yellowstone blows. As for North America, there will be an ash cloud and ash accumulation over everything east of Yellowstone. This has happened before and life was not wiped out (although mammoths and woolly rhinos died, etc.) But the impact on human society would be profound, and while probably not an extinction event for human beings it would be catastrophic to most.

While I have a thick mat of hair, unfortunately Wisconsin would probably not be spared from the ash fall (as you note).
